We will enjoy <b>magnificent views<\/b> of the central Pyrenees, the Mediano reservoir with the Mediano Church Tower rising out of the water and the Grado reservoir. <\/p>\n<p>From the <strong>Samitier Tower<\/strong> we can visualize a whole system of towers that were built to defend this territory, such as the tower of Abizanda, Ols\u00f3n, Torreciudad, Muro de Roda, Moncl\u00fas or Escanilla.<\/p>\n<p>This route is accessible to almost everyone and is ideal to complement your visit to Ainsa with a small <strong>family<\/strong> <strong>hiking route<\/strong> discovering one of the most spectacular viewpoints of Sobrarbe.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_gallery gallery_ids=&#8221;9300,9290,9294,9286&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.22.1&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][\/et_pb_gallery][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.22.1&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.22.1&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_heading title=&#8221;The ascent to Samitier Castle&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.22.1&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; title_level=&#8221;h2&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][\/et_pb_heading][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.22.1&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; text_font_size=&#8221;16px&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>We will park in the village of <strong>Samitier<\/strong> where the village fountain is. From here we climb straight up a cemented slope that leads to the water tank of the village and we will find the beginning of the path. <\/p>\n<p>Short and easy <b>hiking route<\/b>, with a difference in altitude of almost 300 meters, where we will go up a very comfortable and pleasant <b>marked path<\/b>. The path runs parallel to the track that goes up to Samitier Castle, where it goes through the forest and crosses several times with the track. <\/p>\n<p>This excursion is open to <b>families with children<\/b>, couples or groups of friends, and will take <b>2 hours<\/b> to go up and down.<\/p>\n<p>We will find a typical Mediterranean vegetation where we can find <b>aromatic<\/b> and<b> medicinal plants<\/b> such as thyme, rosemary, lavender and savory. <b>Variety of trees<\/b> such as Scots pine, olive trees, almond trees and holm oaks. <b>Endemic plants<\/b> such as Corona de Rey and Oreja de Oso.<\/p>\n<p>At a geological level, the <b>Anticline of Mediano<\/b> and the <b>Congosto de Entrem\u00f3n<\/b> stand out. After <strong>15 km<\/strong> we will reach the village of Mediano and a few meters from the exit of the village, we find the detour to the left of the <strong>village of Samitier<\/strong>. The path will go up more or less parallel to the track that also goes up to Samitier Castle, crossing it several times. <\/p>\n<p>After a long half hour, we will reach the <strong>Ermita Waldesca<\/strong> and in 15 minutes more we will arrive at an esplanade with <strong>magnificent views<\/strong> of the Mediano reservoir.
