Fornocal Canyon, Canyoning in the Sierra de Guara

The Fornocal Canyon is a very varied canyon descent that is usually done in spring or after a period of rain. It is a tributary of the Vero Canyon, located in the area of Colungo, the eastern part of the Sierra de Guara.

The name Fornocal refers to the lime kilns that were located north of this ravine. Area well known by our ancestors, where we can visit the cave paintings of Muriecho of Levantine art which depicts a scene of capture of a deer with more than 30 figures.

The descent of the Fornocal will cost us about 4 hours and where we will find 9 small rappelsof maximum 12 meters high. We will find narrow corridors, small caves and water-perforated marmites. Numerous projections will make us pay attention to destreparlos and aquatic character makes this ravine is one of our favorite in the spring of the Sierra de Guara.

This canyon is a good option for sporty people in good physical condition, although technically speaking, it is not necessary to have experience in canyoning.
