Description of the itinerary of the Ferrata of Ordesa
We will differentiate 4 sections in this circular route from the village of Broto, the Via ferrata “Cascada de Sorrosal”.
Section 1 : Great vertical of the “Sorrosal Waterfall”.
It is the most vertical and spectacular section of the ferrata, where the easiest way, overcomes the great waterfall of Sorrosal, 110 meters.
We will take advantage of a system of cornices, where we will find pegs, staples and chains that will help us to progress. We will reach the most aerial section where a system of stairs will lead us to a tunnel excavated in the nineteenth century for irrigation.
Section 2 : Sorrosal Canyon
We continue along the ditch that will take us into the interior of the canyon, right where the great Sorrosal waterfall falls. We will cross the ravine by a Tibetan bridge, and a system of staples will allow us to go up the ravine discovering beautiful pools and waterfalls. We will leave the canyon going up the vertical walls of Flisch.
Section 3 : Broto’s cornices
We take a small path that will lead us to long ledges with magnificent views of the village and valley of Broto, the Sorrosal waterfall and the Ordesa Valley.
Section 4 : Return to Broto
We will arrive at a viewpoint and take the old road that went from Fragen to Broto. A little more than half an hour down the path and we will arrive at the starting point.
