Alquézar, medieval village in the Sierra de Guara
The village of Alquézar is one of the most beautiful villages of Aragon. With its castle and Collegiate church at the top of the village, and its narrow medieval cobbled streets, make this place magical.
Surrounded by large stone walls with the Vero Canyon at the bottom of the valley, Alquézar is located in a unique and strategic enclave.
This small village of only 200 inhabitants, we will find the basic services. It is oriented to the sport tourism being an ideal place to start our canyoning.
Apart from canyoning, if we are in Alquézar, we can also visit the wine cellars of D.O. Somontano and the oil mills of the area.
We can schedule a hiking route and take the opportunity to visit a cave painting on the Vero Canyon.
This area is protected by the Natural Park of the Sierra and Canyons of Guara.
Alquézar is 58 km from Ainsa and 52 km from Huesca.
