Canyoning in the Benasque Valley

Canyoning in the Benasque Valley is generally for sporty and/or experienced people, since there are no initiation canyons in the whole valley.

But it has a hidden gem, the ravine of l’Aigüeta de Barbaruens, where we will enjoy its large number of jumps and natural slides.

The activities we propose in the Benasque Valley are close to Ainsa, with good roads.

Benasque, the little Chamonix of the Pyrenees

Benasque is located in the heart of the Benasque Valley, surrounded by the Posets-Maladeta Natural Park.

A village with a mountain atmosphere with numerous equipment stores, mountain guide companies and a guide school.

In Benasque there are numerous hiking trails, such as the Forau d’Aigualluts where the waters from the Aneto Glacier, disappear to come out in the Aran Valley.

We can go to the Llanos del Hospital or do the Route of the 3 Waterfalls.

Ainsa is 60 km from Benasque and 48 km from Barbaruens.

Canyoning and whitewater rafting in Benasque Valley

In the Benasque Valley are the two highest peaks of the Pyrenees, the peak of Aneto and Posets.

It is an ideal valley for adventure sports such as canyoning, rafting and kayaking, mountaineering, paragliding and via ferratas. In winter we can also enjoy alpine skiing in Cerler or Nordic skiing in the Llanos del Hospital.

Canyoning in the Benasque Valley is quite demanding as a general rule, where the canyons are sporty and aquatic, usually in a very green and wild environment.

L‘Aigüeta de Barbaruens is the star canyon of the Benasque Valley, as it is one of the most fun canyons in the Spanish Pyrenees. It is ideal for sporty people who like jumps and slides.

In the Ésera River we will enjoy the 14 km of Rafting, where we will find one of the best navigable stretches of the Pyrenees, the Pyramids. Rapids, wave trains and lots of water await us.
