Formiga Canyon, one of the mythical canyons of the Sierra of Guara
The Formiga canyon is one of the mythical of the Sierra de Guara and is one of the busiest in the area. It is located 35 km from Alquézar and 30 km from Huesca city, and can be done in a morning finishing for lunch.
This canyon is a very varied initiation canyon, where we will find everything: jumps and slides, optional 1-2 meter siphons and two rappels. It is ideal for beginners to canyoning and is open to everyone.
We will start with a comfortable approach, with some ascent and we will reach a spectacular ledge, which will lead us to a rappel and down to the bed of the ravine. The first part is the narrowest where we will find a rappel and a large slide. After the narrowest part, the canyon opens up and from here it is a myriad of small jumps to pools.
Warm waters, transparent pools and small corridors with embedded rocks, make us have fun and at the same time enjoy this landscape. Indispensable to schedule this canyoning during your summer vacations, if you are in Alquézar or Huesca.
